About Us

OkiesFirst Messaging

Every campaign we're running, in one place — what we say, where we say it, and why. And if we get a fact, a number, or a word wrong, we want to hear it from you.

Our Messaging Pledge

What we pledge to do with our messaging

These are promises to you — about how we write, what we run, and how we behave when we're wrong. They hold across our content, outreach, ads, surveys, and public messaging. Hold us to them.

Our Core Pledge

We will put Okies first.

We pledge to put people before politics and principles before power.

We will keep our messaging on the people who actually keep this state running — the farmers, teachers, small business owners, veterans, and families — and we will treat every Oklahoman, wherever they live and whatever they do, as a voice worth hearing and respecting.

What We'll Fight For

We will keep our message on education, healthcare, rural development, and government accountability.

We will argue for stronger local economies and for the opportunities that help our communities grow.

We will speak for working families in all 77 counties — not for one party or another, but for each other.

Our Nonpartisan Pledge

We will stay independent and nonpartisan in everything we publish.

We will not praise or attack a candidate because of their party. We will judge them on their record of serving Oklahomans, show you that record, and tell you plainly where we stand and why.

We will never use our messaging to turn Oklahomans against each other to win a point.

Educate. Inform. Empower.

We will educate first, inform second, and empower always.

We will connect Oklahomans with the local stories, polls, contacts, and causes they need so their communities can act.

We will practice accountability — starting with our own words. When we get something wrong, we will say so, out loud, and fix it.

The Oklahoma Standard

We will hold our messaging to the Oklahoma Standard: service, honor, and kindness.

We will show up for our neighbors the way Oklahomans always have, and we will keep our tone worthy of them — no cheap shots, no fear as a shortcut, no cruelty for clicks.

Together, we are working toward a stronger, fairer Oklahoma — one that truly puts Okies first.

The pledge in a few words

The same promises, short enough to carry into a post, a graphic, or a conversation.

  • People before politics. Principles before power. Okies first.
  • Built by and for Oklahomans. Across all 77 counties.
  • We support or oppose based on the record of serving Oklahomans — not party.
  • Educate. Inform. Empower.
  • Stronger local economies. Fair representation. Okies first.
  • Not for one side or the other — for each other.
  • That's not radical. That's putting Okies first.

What we're telling Oklahoma

11 campaigns published

DigitalLiveCorrection made

Reject Mike Mazzei

A standalone independent site making the case against Mike Mazzei's run for governor — the $11 million in personal loans behind his campaign and a tax plan with no funding source — and pointing voters to Cyndi Munson.

ReportA misspelled word was reported. Error confirmed and corrected.

Key messages

  • Nearly 90% of Mazzei's campaign money is his own: more than $11 million in personal loans.
  • Big tax promises with no funding source — and answers that go vague when the math gets questioned.
  • Reject Mike. Vote Cyndi Munson for governor.

Reject Bice

A missing-person style independent expenditure site: Stephanie Bice has not held an in-person CD-5 town hall since August 26, 2021 and declined a district debate, so the site points voters to Jena Nelson instead.

Key messages

  • Have you seen this person? No in-person CD-5 town hall since August 26, 2021.
  • Declined NonDoc's CD-5 debate; Jena Nelson has challenged her to four.
  • Vote Jena Nelson on November 3.

Reject Hern

A parody drive-thru site on Kevin Hern's fast-food fortune and Senate run — “Oklahoma's Not Lovin' It” — set against nurse, military spouse, and Chickasaw citizen N'Kiyla “Jasmine” Thomas. The site states that McDonald's does not endorse Okies First or the site.

Key messages

  • Oklahoma's Not Lovin' It: 18–24 franchises owned, $100M+ net worth range, roughly $10.8 million raised this cycle.
  • Value-menu results: teacher pay near the bottom, rural hospitals at risk.
  • Order better — support Jasmine Thomas.

Your Vote, Your Secret

The case for voting in Oklahoma: your ballot is private by law, and participation is how ordinary Oklahomans get a say in what happens next.

Key messages

  • Your vote is secret — no one can look it up later.
  • Only about 1 in 3 Oklahomans vote. That is the problem worth fixing.
  • Voting is the cheapest form of accountability there is.

Found a mistake? Report it.

A wrong statistic, a misspelled county, a dead link, a line that no longer reflects the facts — send it over. A person reads every report, and confirmed errors get corrected in the campaign copy itself.

  • Quote the exact line so we can find it fast.
  • If it's a factual claim, include the correct information or a source.
  • Email is optional — but it's how we tell you what we changed.
